Educational Multimedia Research Centre (EMMRC) was established in 1983. The Centre is fully funded by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. The Centre produces good qualitative, enrichment & syllabus based Educational Television (ETV) programmes. Currently, these programmes are telecast twenty four hours on the SWAYAM PRABHA DTH channels.
There are 34 DTH channels under SWAYAM PRABHA dedicated to different Subjects/streams.
There are Twenty-one such Media centre (EMMRC) all over India.
In 1991, EMMRC, Pune constructed state of the art TV studio. The architecture was designed by the British Architect who designed the BBC Studios. This Centre has got the capacity to produce and present Television Programmes on various levels.
